Sailboat+Sunset+Music= Happy Times

This Thursday August 18th I'll be performing on the Schooner Woodwind Sailboat Sunset Cruise. Get your tickets HERE. This is the same sailboat featured in the hilarious film Wedding Crashers. I'm really excited to 1) Sail, 2) Perform for you, and 3) watch the sunset on the Chesapeake Bay.

In other news the Machester United vs. Barcelona game at FedEx Field was a great success. I actually drove my car into the stadium which was awesome and enjoyed performing for over 500 VIP's which mostly seemed like normal families. Oh and Kobe Bryant was there! After the performance I enjoyed watching the two best teams in the world go at it and sharing the experience with my Mom and Friends! For a picture from the stage check out my facebook page at: www.facebook.com/austinellismusic

Dream Come True!!

For those of you who know me personally, you are probably aware that I am an avid Washington Redskins fan. Last summer at a tiki bar show in my North Beach, I met the VP of Operations at Redskins Stadium and he asked me if I "liked" the Redskins. Of course I assured him that "loved" was a much more appropriate description. Then he asked me if I'd like to play at a game, to which I replied with a gasping "Yes!." Well during the long and tedious NFL lock-out, he emailed me with an opportunity. That opportunity is this Saturday (July 30th) and I will be performing at FedEx Field for the Manchester United vs. F.C. Barcelona Soccer Match! This is the biggest soccer game, between two of the world's top teams, to take place on American soil in years. The event is completely sold out and I'll be performing pre-game for over 500 international VIP's! Now unfortunately unless you already have tickets, you won't be able to catch the show or the match, however if you'd like to hear the stories, you can come out the NightCat in Easton on Sunday July 31st at 7pm. Tickets are $12 and I'll be sharing the stage with up and coming singer-songwriters Jess Bishoff and Alec Gaston.

Now that the heat has subsided a bit, we can all go back outside and enjoy the summer. Be sure to buy local food while its in season and enjoy fresh delicious produce that supports the local economy and reduces waste.

Be sure to "like" my Facebook page at

Enjoying That Summer Love

If you are getting married this summer or know anyone who is, do let them know that I am available to perform during their ceremony or cocktail hour. I performed at a wedding this past weekend and I was overwhelmed by the love, joy, and family in the room. I felt really lucky to be a part of this couples' special day and memory. Thanks to everyone who checked out my new video on Youtube. I'll be creating some new material in the coming weeks. It has been a prolific writing period. Every once in a while I'll churn out song after song over the course of a week or two. I'm excited to refine some of the material for the coming album.

Coming up this weekend I will be performing at the Eastport-a-Rockin' festival in Annapolis this Saturday. It should be a great day full of music and fun. My set is at 5:50pm. It will also be a sort of house warming concert as I will be relocating to Annapolis this week! I am excited for the change and the new opportunities to come.

I'll also be in Philadelphia next Wednesday for the Love Us event which is focused on music and art that delivers the message of love. I'm always happy to visit all of my great friends and fans in Philly!

That's all for now!

Want To Hear A New Song?

Austin Ellis Newsletter | June 14th 2011

Dear Awesome and Supportive Mailing List Signer-Upper,

It has been a busy couple of weeks! I just realized that I've performed 9 out of the last 12 days, sometimes more than once in a day. Not that I'm complaining, I appreciate the business. Also in that time I have been writing a lot of new material for the next release and testing out in the live environment. I'd like to share a new song with you. It's called "Whole New Thing." My friend and fellow musician Scott Smith passed the guitar chords to me and I found a groove I liked and wrote this little ditty. Its about taking care of ourselves so that we can take better care of our loved ones. You can see the video at my Youtube Channel: www.youtube.com/austinellismusic. Please subscribe and leave feedback.

Tonight (Tuesday, June 14th) I am performing in Annapolis at O'Brien's for WRNR's "Annapolis Unplugged" series, starting at 8:30pm. It's free and fun and my good friend and djembe player Dan Mayes will be joining me for the set. Also this weekend if your looking for a little slice of paradise, join me in my home town North Beach, MD at Mango's on the Bay. I'll be performing the Sunset Session from 5 to 9pm right on the Chesapeake Bay with a huge pool, tiki bar, fresh squeezed orange and grapefruit crushes/juice and a private beach for prime sunset viewing. You'll understand why I always wear flip-flops when you see where I grew up!

I hope the summer is treating you well!

Peace and Blessings,

-Austin

This was a really great venue complete with a seated audience, hot chocolate, and stylishly dressed manikins. It was not warm tho, as you can see the design allowed for a serious draft.

LA Trip

I had a charmed trip to Los Angeles for the Taxi Road Rally convention! I was honored to meet incredible artists, songwriters, and producers from all around the world. A personal highlight was shaking hands with the Motown Legend Holland Dozier! Saturday I was invited to perform at the Roxy on the Sunset Strip with the wonderfully talented Carolyna Loveless after she caught one of my performances at the convention. I waited in the lobby as the limo pulled up to take us to the show! It was surreal to say the least! On Sunday my song "22" was selected during the Film/TV Panel, where top music supervisors weighed in on the songs of attendees. I received great reviews and was called up on the stage to personally deliver demos to each of the panelists! It was more than I could have imagined and I am humbled by the experience.
